Book of Living Gifts
The Book of Living Gifts was established in 1985 as a way of honoring
deceased loved ones and friends while providing a way to make a financial
gift to benefit local, qualified non-profit organizations.
• Contributions to the Book of Living Gifts help
support the York Community Foundation Endowment Fund, which is used
to provide
grants
for programs and projects that benefit the York community. Contributions
to the Book of Living Gifts are tax deductible.
• The “Book of Living Gifts” is located
on the first floor of Cornerstone Bank and is accessible for viewing
during
normal business hours.
• If
you wish to have a name added to the Book of Living Gifts, the
following information is needed:
1.
name of the deceased person, printed as you want it inscribed
in the book
2. year of the deceased person’s birth
3. year of the deceased person’s death
4. the name and address of the person you want an acknowledgement
sent to
5. your name and address
Contributions should be made payable to the York Community
Foundation. No minimum contribution is required.
• The York Community Foundation will notify the
family of the deceased in writing making them aware that a contribution
has
been made in the name of their loved one.
• You will receive a receipt for your contribution.
• The name of the deceased will be inscribed in
The Book of Living Gifts. When multiple gifts are received for the
same name, the
name is
inscribed only once.
